I would think buck teeth. Because gappy teeth are in the right spot, they just need to be pushed together. I'm no orthodontist though.

It takes longer to remedy a crowded mouth due to the fact you either need to have extractions done, or palatal expanders need to be worn to stretch out the palate. A lot of gaps can easily be fixed with braces. You have to be diligent about wearing your retainers afterwards though, or everything will go right back to where they started.

My daughter's teeth is extremly yellow, bucked, and has a large hole behind..how?
my daughter is 14 yrs old..sometimes when she eats, one of her upper behind teeth will crack (something like into small pieces). Now, a large hole can be seen. It seems like the tooth is lost but there's still a bit at the side of the tooth. From the hole i can see her permanent tooth...What should i do? she will never visit a dentist for check-ups. She has two extremely bucked, yellow front teeth. The stain would not come out no matter how hard she brushed it. What should i do?

She shouldn't be allowed to make the final decision on whether or not she can go to checkups. Since you've allowed her to make that decision, look what's happened to her teeth! It sounds like she needs teeth pulled, some braces to fix the bucked teeth and some tooth whitener...try Crest Whitestrips.

My dentist says it is about 500 a tooth and then depending on wear or tear, they last from 5-10 years. It would be cheaper in the long run to get braces. I was thinking about veneers cause I have a small gap with my front two teeth but I changed my mind. It would cost to much in the long run and the sound of them having to take some enamel away each time I get them put on.... well, that does not sit well with me.

Is pacifier good for my 6 month old son who's little teeth is popping out...?
we tried to stop my 6 month old son from using the pacifier, but he needs that to sleep... but i had heard horror stories that, if babies kept using it, they will have buck teeth especially at this stage that, my son's teeth is popping out soon..?? what should i do..?? he won't stop crying until we gave him the pacifier...

She said however that the pacifier can delay the speach. We have noticed that!!! My son is 17 months old and don't talk!! He will say mom or dad if you take his bink away but not much more than that. Sucking is a life skill that your child began in the womb and perfected as an infant. As he becomes a toddler, you may worry that sucking his thumb or pacifier will impair your child's developmental growth by making it harder for him to talk or play. That's a legitimate concern after age 4, but there's no cause for alarm now.
Will sucking a thumb or pacifier hurt my child's teeth?
It's unlikely. According to the American Dental Association, children can safely suck their thumbs or a pacifier until age 4 or 5 without damaging teeth or jawlines. But you'll probably want to encourage your child to stop by age 5 or 6, when permanent teeth begin to appear.

Not only did our family doctor assure me that they are harmless, but my children are 11 and 2, and neither one of them have any long term problems. The only thing I found difficult was trying to wein them off of it, so I just let them decide when they no longer needed a pacifier. I think most children grow out of it early in their toddler years.

Reply:Please, wear ear plugs for a couple of days and throw that thing away. He does not need it, all he needs is your comfort and love. Please consider that he does not need that bottle after a year old, unless he has health problems. He should be potty trained by the age of two or 2 1/2 years at the latest. These are my pet-peeves forgive me.

The only thing I'll add is that now he's getting teeth, you need to be extra vigilant in checking that the pacifier is in tact with no tears...every single time you give it to him. A broken/torn pacifier is a huge choking risk.

You can however have your teeth ground down and veneers or ctowns put on , but this is costly and have to be replaced as your gums receed or the veneers break. If you are under 18 this not an option. THE best thing to do is sit down and talk to your dentist about your options. Since I can't see your teeth I can't say exactly what is the best direction to take and you may do well with a short term brace treatment and not have to grind the teeth down. ONLY a hands on professional can help you make the right decision. I wish you the best. M

That is what the Orthodontist told us as well. Apparently when you sleep your tongue pushes against your teeth and that can also cause it. My daughter was given a mouthpiece that she used when sleeping. She had a overlap so her bottom teeth rested against her top teeth and pushed them out that is why she wore a mouth-piece. I don't know about milk-teeth they fall out anyway so i don't know if that applies to them. Maybe someone else can give you a good helpful answer.:)

Reply:Generally it's recommended that you remove all binkies before that can happen. Yes it can cause a change in how the "baby" teeth are aligned but unless it is a severe case of misalignment it should have no affect on the adult teeth. Thumb sucking has a much worse affect on teeth.

Reply:I don't believe it does. My children 'spat their dummies' so to speak and replaced it with their thumbs. They were constantly sucking them and if they had had dummies I could have given it to them at certain times. However, neither of them have prominent teeth, so I don't believe that either have any effect.

Dummies in older children cause sppech impediments and they do mishape their teeth, my aunt is a dentist nurse and she gets so cross when mothers come in complaining about their children's teeth and when the dentist asks if they are still using a dummy he wants to strangle them for being so stupid and allowing children over 2 to have a dummy cos of the damage it can do

And if the teeth are growing in a pushed out way, the big teeth will follow that same pattern, because the baby teeth are paving the way for the big teeth. Which is why Orthodontists will wait until kids have their adult teeth before putting braces on kids teeth.
Reply:It didnt cause me to go buck toothed but it did give me a nasty over bite, which even braces havent been able to fix. My othorodontist said that when my baby is born (pregnant and i have braces i sound like a character dont I) to buy dummies that say that orthorodontic care and recommended ones. He also said to only give them at night.
I dont know if it is milk teeth or adult teeth but i got an overbite due to having a dummy when i was a baby (the othorodontist told me that the dummy was the cause as i had it until i was 4, my mum couldnt get me of them lol).

Reply:The problem I have found with dummies are not with the teeth but with speech...those children who have dummies past 2 and haf tend to have difficulties with tongue and cheek movements...I think its because if they talk or make sounds with the dummy in their mouth thier lips, tongues and cheeks get used to certain movements that mean when the dummy is outthe words dont form as they should.
But I have nothing against dummies used at night or comfort.

Thumb sucking is the biggest problem..cos it's always there, you cannot take it away, and no matter how old a child is..they can still suck it discreetly.
My first child wanted to suck her thumb but I gave her a dummy instead...it became a nightmare..cried when it was lost, cried when it fell out..so second child was allowed to suck thumb..life was blissfull..but now we have dental problems to resolve..
I regret choosing an easy life over the health of My daughters teeth..but I really did not know what i was doing.

That is what the Orthodontist told us as well. Apparently when you sleep your tongue pushes against your teeth and that can also cause it. My daughter was given a mouthpiece that she used when sleeping. She had a overlap so her bottom teeth rested against her top teeth and pushed them out that is why she wore a mouth-piece. I don't know about milk-teeth they fall out anyway so i don't know if that applies to them. Maybe someone else can give you a good helpful answer.:)

Reply:Generally it's recommended that you remove all binkies before that can happen. Yes it can cause a change in how the "baby" teeth are aligned but unless it is a severe case of misalignment it should have no affect on the adult teeth. Thumb sucking has a much worse affect on teeth.

They were constantly sucking them and if they had had dummies I could have given it to them at certain times. However, neither of them have prominent teeth, so I don't believe that either have any effect.

Reply:Dummies don't make a child buck toothed. Thumbs do. And if the teeth are growing in a pushed out way, the big teeth will follow that same pattern, because the baby teeth are paving the way for the big teeth. Which is why Orthodontists will wait until kids have their adult teeth before putting braces on kids teeth.
Reply:It didnt cause me to go buck toothed but it did give me a nasty over bite, which even braces havent been able to fix. My othorodontist said that when my baby is born (pregnant and i have braces i sound like a character dont I) to buy dummies that say that orthorodontic care and recommended ones. He also said to only give them at night.
I dont know if it is milk teeth or adult teeth but i got an overbite due to having a dummy when i was a baby (the othorodontist told me that the dummy was the cause as i had it until i was 4, my mum couldnt get me of them lol).

Reply:The problem I have found with dummies are not with the teeth but with speech...those children who have dummies past 2 and haf tend to have difficulties with tongue and cheek movements...I think its because if they talk or make sounds with the dummy in their mouth thier lips, tongues and cheeks get used to certain movements that mean when the dummy is outthe words dont form as they should.
But I have nothing against dummies used at night or comfort.

Thumb sucking is the biggest problem..cos it's always there, you cannot take it away, and no matter how old a child is..they can still suck it discreetly.
My first child wanted to suck her thumb but I gave her a dummy instead...it became a nightmare..cried when it was lost, cried when it fell out..so second child was allowed to suck thumb..life was blissfull..but now we have dental problems to resolve..
I regret choosing an easy life over the health of My daughters teeth..but I really did not know what i was doing.
Now I do...no thumb sucker ever!!!!

Do orthodontists put clear braces in back of your teeth?
I have buck teeth and crooked and i dont want my braces to show at all...so would invisalgn work or clear braces in back of the teeth?
