Its so odd my horse, I can't even tell when shes in heat. she acts normal, but my friends horse goes phsyco! she pees all the time, kicks her stall, grinds her teeth (well actually thats normal for her lol but she does it louder) she whinnies in pain, she hunches up and pushes her butt on the stall wall and always seems to be in pain :( sometimes my friend cant even ride her it gets so bad. she bucks and rears. so i know there are supplements that they can give her but what im wondering is what is the most effective? or are there any other methods?

I would agree with Magic Mare and Moody Mare. Also look into Regumate. Think of it like the Depo-Provera for horses. It'll regulate her cycle and can help calm her down a bit. I'm currently giving my horse 10ccs for 10 days and have done this before on other breeding programmes. It will make her cycle a bit more predictable and easier to handle.
All those symptoms though can just be an overly-moody mare. Aside from supplements just try to keep her comfortable and happy. =)
Reply:Mare Magic is a good daily supplement for mares. It's kind of like a subtle calming agent. We have even givin it to some of our high strung geldings.
Reply:there is a product out there called moody mare. and their is a shot available to give the mare to keep her from coming in season for a few months.
Some horses are just like women, their cycles are sometimes worse than others.

Just make sure that you don't get any on your hands (it's absorbed through the skin) or it will mess with your cycle too!

You know the scenario: It's Sunday, you're ready to watch some football, and invariably the Giants are on with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman calling the game.
3+ hours follow of Shockey jumping up and down on the sidelines like a little girl ...
Plexico Burress either a) hot-dogging it b) giving dirty looks with his ballcap turned sideways like some punk rapper, or c) dropping passes and blaming the refs.
Michael Strahan flashing his gap-toothed smile and running up and down the sideline looking for a camera to talk to ..
Eli Manning alternating between looking completely bewildered or ready to burst into tears - in between bad-passes, of course ..
And that idiot Tom Coughlin waddling around like the stupid prick that he is, obviously more concerned about his fat contract than managing the clock!

Why is this boy hurting me?
Okay so my friend tried hooking me up with her ex boyfriend. So she did and we got together and had a fake relationship for 3 days. What I mean by fake is that he was dared to go out with the ugliest girl ever by his friends and got paid 40 bucks to do it. He said the ugliest girl he has ever seen was me. It hurt so bad to know the truth. I cried myself to sleep. Then somehow he found out who I liked from my school and told him I liked him and he was like eww omfg who would ever want to go out with her she is so ugly. Truth is.....lots of boys call me ugly and it is sort of making me lose my confidence around others especially boys. Then he paid his friend to go record me using the restroom. I didn't even know he was recording me omg! And then he got this picture of me and drew all of these things like a mustache, something with my teeth, and made me look hideous and posted it around his school and everyone at his school said I was ugly:( I am in serious pain.

Average cost on changing the starter in a dodge neon?
I looked up the part on the napa website and it was about 200 bucks. Ouch. This car has been a giant pain in the A lately, but is our only, so we have to keep it running. The mechanic told me that the starter isn't engaging,or shifting down where it's supposed to go, something to do with the teeth, and it occasionaly makes this awful screeching noise when you start it up. He said to shut it off and restart it until it didn't make that noise because if I drove it like that, then I will need a starter a lot sooner that I would otherwise. Does this sound right? Is there anything we can do in the meantime, aside from replacing the whole thing?

Which sonic toothbrush should i buy?
I have horrible genetics when it comes to teeth and no dental insurance. A dentist at the dental school strongly recommended a sonic toothbrush for me. Does anyone have a sonic-care or oral-b triumph? Does anyone think the 120.00 sonic-care is better than the 65.00 one? i'm willing to shell out the bucks for a quality product but don't want to waste money if they're all basically the same.

Whats story sticks to mind when you think of montel?
I'm watching it right and this lady was using crank and got bet up by her boyfriend he knocked her two front teeth out and tore off her bottom lip a chunk of it. Shes a changed women now they've giving her a new lip and complete make over she looks like a million bucks shes changed so much now good on her. I really feel for her, as I've been off of drugs myself for the past four years, and have completly turned my life around. So yer whats story sticks to mind when you think of montel?

How to help a horny cat?
I dont mean to be gross but my cat 'humps' my blanet,body pillow at the end of the bed, and straddles my legs a few times a week while holding the blanket in his teeth.I have asked the vet about it because he was fixed at 6 months old.The vet laughed at me and said he never saw that before.I wanted to die of embarrasment.He suggested kitty Ritalin and seeing the behavior specialist at 30 bucks an hour.I wont drug him for being healthy for lack of a better word and cant afford the kitty shrink.I bought a squirt bottle and pick it up and squirt him.He usually runs when I pick it up.It stops it for that time but does it again the next night.
I have a fixed female cat too now.He plays with her and loves her but has never tried to initiate sex with her or the other female that lived here once.The only sexual behavior he has is in my bed when I try to sleep.How can I get him to 'look' at her? She might not want it but you never know.Help?

Does anyone know how much Blue Cross and Blue Shield covers for braces? My two front teeth are straight but, I have two "fangs" on either side that I would like straightened. Is it less just to have the upper half in braces? And what are some good payment options? Everyone I call is listing anywhere from 3500-4800 bucks, which I find kind of steep. Is there any dentists that are reasonable enough for a middle class to afford?
I have two kids to take care of, a mouth full of rot, dental insurance thru work, and cannot afford to have teeth pulled that are broken to the point of being stumps. every time i had one pulled in the past, mr. dentist tries so hard to get the root cannal and crowns, which are big bucks even just for the copays. are they worried about people that need help at all? or is it just worry about the pocket book?

Do you know if you have a local dental school? I don't think every town has one, but that was a good idea you were given. You're probably like me in that you make too much to qualify for any kind of program that would assist you with the costs.
I wish I had a magical answer for you. I don't. It sucks and its wrong. Dental insurance needs some major reform. I never could figure out why your teeth and eyes were considered seperate from the rest of your body as far as medical coverage goes. Last time I checked, they were part of my body!

I had a dream that I was sitting in a church and some one walked up to me and said , "here is the hand, go put it back on the body" It was a dead person's right hand. I tried to ask Rit Springer (popular christian worship leader) to take it from me b/c I was grossed out and didnt want to touch a dead persons detached hand. She said she didnt want to do it and she went ahead and went to the fron of the church to lead worship. I got up and went to the room where the dead person was and noticed that he died b/c he was in a car accident. His whole face and jaw and teeth were moved from their original possition. We even have Australians fly to the Philippines mainly for dental work and travel comes second to their priority. However, if you are thinking about havng brace. you have to stay here in the Philippines or fly back often because braces would require regular adjustments, usually on a monthly basis. But it really is way cheaper here than in Australia.

Can using an old eyeglasses / contact prescription (almost 10 years old) be the cause for frequent headaches?
I've been having frequent headaches lately and I went to see a doctor about it and he told me I should try a night mouthguard as he suspects they could be due to me grinding my teeth during the night. I bought one of the mouthguards available at Walmart, it was like 20 bucks and it hasn't really worked for me, but thing is I don't leave it in all night because I'm afraid I might choke on it while sleeping. Is that possible? He, the doc, did tell me the best thing to do is to have one specifically made for me by a dentist but said they run around $200 or so. I don't have any health, dental or eye insurance and that's why I've been putting all this off. So what would you do / try?

And I do not want to scare you. I would recommend keeping a watch on your headaches and taking notes. How frequent are the headcahes? do they occur at certain times of the day? do they occur after you eat something? things like that. Then report your findings to your doctor. Help yourself by helping your doctor. Sometimes stress can bring about migraines with frequent nasty headaches, sometimes allergies can bring about headaches and sometimes bad or out dated glasses.
Hope you find a cure for your headaches.

I've been stimulating my gums through the use of a rubber dental pick, the ones you find in cheap stores (or possibly big retail outlets) for a few bucks. So amazingly does it work, that I have now begun to grow small pockets of gum tissue (nothing miraculous, but still an achievement) around the areas of my two front teeth and bottom teeth (unsure of dentistry terms here, so I'll just speak in relative terms tht I can work with).
Keep in mind, though, that the stimulation I've been doing has been over holding my gum tissue in place [teasing] with the rubber instrument.
Is this something unheard of?

I wanted my dentist to do this a long time ago, because I had some really bad teeth problems going on, but he said he refused, for two reasons:
1. My gums were good.
2. He said that as long as I had a root, he could build a tooth on it.
And so he did! I didn't get ANY teeth pulled, and now after several years of gradually getting dental work done, my teeth look great. There are many crowns, veneers, etc., but they look damn near perfect.
One lesson I've learned in all this is to take care of your teeth! I floss daily, and brush 3-5 times a day now, and I hardly ever have problems. I also make sure to do the cleaning every 4-6 months.
I only wish I had done this the first part of my life!

it is typically not possible to regrow gum tissue however it is possible for periodontal pockets to 'shrink' after cleanings because the inflammation has went down and the pocket numbers get smaller.

Would you dump someone over this?
First of all i'm 26 and my GF is 25. We've been dating for 8 months. My girlfriend has developed a hole in the front of her 2 top front teeth. The hole is at the gum line. I'm worried that if she doesn't do anything, it will get worse and they will fall out. My problem is she won't go to the dentist (no dental insurance) even when I told her I would pay. This is embarrassing b/c sometimes food particles get stuck in it, and it's disgusting too. I can't bring it up b/c she will obviously become angry. But damn, she needs to take care of herself. She also gives the excuse that she is poor. Well she lives with her mom and works part time at a job that pays 7 bucks an hour. So it's her fault she is poor, she's a grown woman. Get another job, work some overtime. Something, don't just sit there and do nothing and let your teeth fall out. Everything else about her is perfect, but I don't know if I can put up with someone who obviously doesn't care about themselves.

Dental implants and prosthetics?
I am to the point of needing a full upper plate after removal of 2 more teeht. I cannot wear a standard denture due to gag reflex. The remaining bottom teeth are in a condition that wont take more than a few years before they need replaced, I could wear a plate on the bottom. Ive been told I could get implants in the top with basically a full bridge (new teeth) at roughly 10k. Before the Kentucky jokes start this started as the result of a cuestick in the mouth over 20 years ago.
Anyway the question is for you dentists out there, because of fear and gagging I have to be put out for almost all procedures. Would most that do this type of work take the impressions while I was out during the surgery or would they require I be awake? Or will they charge huge bucks just to put me out for taking impressions?

Should I be concerned?
I have a 6yr old TB mare. She is definetly an alpha mare. I got a call from the barn owner yesterday saying she was not eating her grain and was acting more subdued than usual. I went to see her. I spent some time observing her and she was quiter than usual. Normally she is kicking the wall and showing her dominance over the TB gelding in the next stall. She also has a bad habit of dragging her teeth on the metal wall as well as the wooden one between stalls. I then took her to the indoor arena and just let her loose to play. She did her usual where she rolls then runs around and bucks, etc. then rolls again. To get to the point she is eating her hay, drinking water and eating some grain now, but not the amount of grain she usually is. She has been moving her bowels and the BM looks fine. It doesn't appear to be colic to me although I a not an expert but have seen it in other horses. Any thoughts on what maybe happening or advice? ? depression. ?Teeth maybe hurt.

I had a mule with ulcers, he never cribbed, but chicken pecking grain, gobbling hay, pissyness, irritibility for absolutely not obvious reasons, sweet animal to bucking maniac in 2 sec, cinchyness, diarrhea, dull coat, larger belly with less topline muscling, any of these, not all by any means, but any of these are signs that if put together with your other ones, could help you make the diagnosis easier for you.
You can pay for a scope, but if your animal is exhibiting any of these or more signs, I would just ask the vet to put them on the ulcer meds and just see how they act in 30days.

You can try Miracle Clay by Dynamite, wayyyyyy cheaper than the vet prescriptions, its bentonite clay. My mule was healed using this, I still use it when he is preforming etc, but just an idea if you gag at the price they throw at you at the vets for the meds. I saw positive results in 24 hrs (loss of diarrhea, his pissyness was resolved, his weaving stopped, his bucking ceased *until saddle fitting problems* and he gained 200lbs in 3 mths, hence saddle fitting nightmares lol)
I just feel for ppl that are in this perdicament, Stretch was misdiagnosed by 3 vets, 4th finally when push came to shove by me, figured out the ulcers.

I really need positive feedback or help?
i recently moved and have been talked about ever since. i have really messed up teeth and have been ridiculed about it ever since. its been about months now and i cant take it. so i told my mom i want to move back to my dad. i am in about 3 months but i dont think i can last that long without good friends. everyone here is so mean so i tried finding the nicest friends and even those friends put me down about my teeth too. its so hurting and ive started to think sucidal thoughts. now my mom is making me feel bad for moving back and then she acts happy that im moving back too. i have told her so many times to take me to the dentist but she never does. what do i do.

How old are you? Why not just make the appointment and go to the dentist yourself? When you arrive for the appointment and they ask about your mom just tell them she is at work or whatever. Then when you bring home all the information you can sit her down and tell her exactly what she has to do to help you achieve your dream of having a healthy and pretty smile.
If you don't think you can do this then try going through your school counselor or if there is a school nurse and ask them to help you get your mother's attention by requesting a meeting at school. The sheer embarrassment your mother appearing to look neglectful of her daughter will pull her head out of her butt and get her on the phone with a dentist so fast her head will spin!

I GOT MY LIP PIERCED YESTERDAY, i have a few questions?
okay well to start off, I took out the piercing. here's why:
the piercer was some hillbilly who seemed to be more of a tattoo artist than a piercer. so everything was going fine until I got home, which is when I noticed that the holes in my lip (with the ring in it) weren't alligned right. the outside looked fine but the inside hole seemed way too far up.
the reason why I say this, is because I've heard people say you shouldnt get lip piercings because they can damage your gums and teeth. well the inside hole was so far up it didn't even TOUCH my teeth. and I wanted to change it to a stud later on, and I could tell that if I put in a stud it would look soo crooked and slanted because of the way he pierced it.
I was so mad last night when I noticed this, I mean I have a hole in my face now and I lost 50 bucks. so I was wondering, how long should I wait before I get it repierced? I want to do it next wekend, but I don't know how long would be good. and I'm never going back to that place again. %26gt;:O!

Many side lip piercings are actually done at a diagonal so that they don't hit your teeth, though it isn't anything drastic. When you go to get it done, make sure that you communicate your intentions with your piercer before you have it done. And make sure you go to someone reputable!

I have pet isnurance (vca), is it to much for vet to quote 700 for dental work for my dog?
He needs teeth cleaning and IM not sure if he needs an extraction but if he does it would cost me 300-700 bucks....pet insurance only pays 65 bucks overall of all costs? Are pet insurances working off quota system?

I went to VCA in Savannah once. Their rates for services were 30 to 40% higher than good old Dr. Marley who ran his own office with 2 assistants. I would definitely shop around and I wouldn't bother with pet insurance. If they will only pay $65 of a $700 bill, he insurance is not worth the money.

Reply:You are being ripped off. Anesthesia is the biggest cost of a dental. That shouldn't cost any more than say 60.00 for initial then 10 for every 20-30 minutes more on gas. An extraction should be between 15 and 20 depending upon if they have to lift it out or if it comes right out. Also the size of your dog factors in because of the amount of anesthesia required. Unless your dog weighs in at 400 lbs seek a second opinion.

Reply:I know that vet expenses are climbing every year and don't know what things should cost, *but* I do know that the pet insurance companies I've looked into are *very* different when it comes to the actual amount that they will reimburse you for vet expenses.
We went with Pets Best Insurance because they work on a straight 80% of the bill after the deductible, unlike other companies I researched. I pay the extra couple of bucks a month so that I can have the lower deductible.

Reply:The $700.00 does seem a bit steep. Our vets charge around $275. That includes preanesthetic blood work, which is mandatory if the pet is over five years old. If under five, it's about $195.00. This price excludes extractions, antibiotics and/or pain meds. There are some places that actually do fillings and root canals (ours is not one of them). Are they offering any of that for that price, or do they just extract the teeth if they are decayed or broken? Have they given you an itemized estimate for their services? It would be interesting to see what could total $700.

Reply:You are being ripped off. Anesthesia is the biggest cost of a dental. That shouldn't cost any more than say 60.00 for initial then 10 for every 20-30 minutes more on gas. An extraction should be between 15 and 20 depending upon if they have to lift it out or if it comes right out. Also the size of your dog factors in because of the amount of anesthesia required. Unless your dog weighs in at 400 lbs seek a second opinion.

Reply:My mom had her dogs teeth cleaned last week. It cost almost $400 dollars. I thought she got ripped off. But they did x-rays, anesthesia and the cleaning. I used to be a vet tech and it never cost over $200.
Reply:I know that vet expenses are climbing every year and don't know what things should cost, *but* I do know that the pet insurance companies I've looked into are *very* different when it comes to the actual amount that they will reimburse you for vet expenses.
We went with Pets Best Insurance because they work on a straight 80% of the bill after the deductible, unlike other companies I researched. I pay the extra couple of bucks a month so that I can have the lower deductible.
I agree with the poster who said that finding a company who is committed to animals and not just profits is important! Good luck to you!
Reply:The $700.00 does seem a bit steep. Our vets charge around $275. That includes preanesthetic blood work, which is mandatory if the pet is over five years old. If under five, it's about $195.00. This price excludes extractions, antibiotics and/or pain meds. There are some places that actually do fillings and root canals (ours is not one of them). Are they offering any of that for that price, or do they just extract the teeth if they are decayed or broken? Have they given you an itemized estimate for their services? It would be interesting to see what could total $700.

Was a crisply chilled November morning.Blue skies loom to make for a most plesant day.I arrived at the shop just shy of 10am,as accustom.Fiddling with a fussy frozen door lock,out of nowhere,up pops this little man.I knew what he wanted.after a while you become numb to the questions,and the word NO rolls rotely off the tongue.Didn't get the chance to spout it out,he beat me to the punch.He says"hey boss got any work that i can do to earn a few bucks?haven't eaten in a day or so?.He fit the part.Third generation hand me down clothes,mis-matched shoes and a coat 3 sizes to big.Must double as a blanket,i thought to myself.Odd i mused,he doesn't have the signature of 2 day stale booz breath and half a mouth full of brown teeth.His eyes were clear,steady and spoke of hunger.With Christmas around the corner thought what the hell,and gave him 20 bucks...............
