How to help a horny cat?

I dont mean to be gross but my cat 'humps' my blanet, body pillow at the end of the bed, and straddles my legs a few times a week while holding the blanket in his teeth.I have asked the vet about it because he was fixed at 6 months old.The vet laughed at me and said he never saw that before.I wanted to die of embarrasment. He suggested kitty Ritalin and seeing the behavior specialist at 30 bucks an hour.I wont drug him for being healthy for lack of a better word and cant afford the kitty shrink.I bought a squirt bottle and pick it up and squirt him.He usually runs when I pick it up.It stops it for that time but does it again the next night.

I have a fixed female cat too now.He plays with her and loves her but has never tried to initiate sex with her or the other female that lived here once. The only sexual behavior he has is in my bed when I try to sleep. How can I get him to 'look' at her? She might not want it but you never know.Help?

First off, I'd find a new vet. A neutered male who humps objects is just doing it as a sign of dominance and the vet should have told you that. It's a behavior issue and nothing more. Keep trying the squirt bottle and giving a firm "NO"--hopefully he'll get it.

I just want to say kudos to you for doing the right thing and getting your animals altered. There are too many people on here who don't care to do that. Good for you. =)
Reply:thats easy get her a mate or get her castrated at the vets it will stop her from getting pregnant but if u want kittens in the future i suggest getting her a mate.
Reply:i had this problem with one of my cats as well...seems like after the males get fixed they act like this..some cats...the water spray is great as long as your catching it alot..get this kitty some ......other thna this i dont think theres anythign to do..except let the other cats mingle wiht him..if he wants them he'll get the female....good luck
Reply:this is normal for some fixed males (I've known at least two cats who've done this, your vet must not get around much :) )

The one cat had a favorite blanket, the other one would just go after the one girl cat (and she didnt seem to mind, though they were both fixed). If it bothers you and it does seem to be after a particular object or blanket then try putting the blanket/object somewhere where you wont have to see it. Use behavior correction such as a water bottle or a jar of nails or something (shake it at him, don't throw it at him) to distract him when he's doing it in your space, but see if you can't persuade him to keep it away from you.

Its creepy, but remember its a natural thing, I would try not to let it bug you. I've had a female cat do something similar and even a bird once that would do unseemly things now and again.
Reply:i think it needs to be fixed
