Revenge on Mom?

I have braces. I have these elastics to move my jaw. I take them out when I brush my teeth or go to bed. I know its disgusting but I sometimes just fling them where ever. Today, my mom finds one and charges me a buck! "If anyone finds one of your elastics, you owe them a dollar."She didnt even give me a chance to go clean them all up so as we speak i owe my dim witted little brother 15$.... so far. I work minimum wage on weekends, I don't have much cash. He's the favorite, he knows it. She has him trained to say i'm the favorite and ur not. She refers to him as "the favorite". My mom is always punishing me with punishments that benefit my brother. If she gets mad, he's allowed to download huge games on my computer. She give him things i want just to spite me, and like 5 seconds after i ask for it. She has never told me shes proud of my, im a straight A student. You should ... but its your mom lol . Hahaha when i had braces i had elastics... and i hated them ! they were so annoying . But anyways brothers are annoying .. same things happen to me. Not concerning money though . Just dont give your brother the money or your mom ... seriously .. what are they going to do ... get pissed at you ? .

Reply:I don't think you should take revenge. I think this situation merits a serious discussion of your relationship and how you feel about the way she treats you. From the way you describe it, it is not fair or very loving.
Reply:It's hard to believe that a mother would play favorites, but it can happen especially if your brother is the "baby." What you need to is 1) see her point of view: it's gross to leave your rubberbands everywhere, so she was trying to teach you a lesson; 2) show her this letter if you really think she treats you unfairly. Obviously, you feel as though you are being mistreated if you are willing to ask total strangers what to do, so show her this exact copy, and let her know that this is ridiculous and there should be no favorites. If that doesn't work, go to your dad. Maybe he can help. Parents are often unaware of the way they treat their kids and this kind of behavior and can be the catalyst to end your relationship. In the mean time, put a lock on your computer, so that only you can access your own computer, clean up your bands and keep pulling straight A's so that you can go to a good school and get the hell out of there when you're 18.
Reply:No revenge. . Have a heart to heart talk with her and tell her all the things you have written here. You are trying really hard and it hurts that you never get any recognition. Oh, and pick up the elastics.
