Braces help!?

I've had braces for over five years. According to my orthadontist, my teeth will not move back any further. I've had a huge overbite since i was little (sucked my thum forever.)

My teeth have gotten a LOT straighter, but they're still a little buck. This concerns me.

Are there any other methods to straighten my teeth?? Surely in this day and age there has to be something.

My doctor said my palate (sp?) is arched so high as a result of excessive thumb sucking that the braces cannot push the teeth in any more.

Gah, please help me!!!

Braces help!?
go get a different opinion from a different doctor but u can see an orthopedic surge and u can get surgeon or a jaw splint that is what my cousin needs she has a weak jaw joint
Reply:reconstructive/plastic surgery but it would probably cost lots of money.
Reply:that sucks. I'm getting surgery on my jaw for an over bite.

what they do is they slice your bottom jaw diagonally, extend it until your bottom theeth meet your top teeth then screw it back together. it's going to hurt like hell, but it will be worth it i'm sure.

good luck. I hope it all works out for you.
Reply:Veneers are not the answer as all they do is make you look like you have straight white teeth. What you have can only be corrected by surgery, I'm afraid. However, if your teeth have been corrected and are very straight I would have the braces removed and see how they look the way they are. Five years is a long time for braces and I think you'll be pleased with the way they look, even with a slight overbite. Almost no one on earth has perfect teeth!

I wish you well.
