Can buck tooth be corrected through surgery?

My parents could afford braces when I was young, but thought that it is just a waste of money. I'm 25 now and want to correct my teeth and overbite. I don't want to wear braces. Is it possible to correct them through surgery? Money isn't a problem for me and I don't mind spending any amount to correct my teeth.

Sorry to sound like a broken record, but invisalign is always an option. It's invisible, hence the name. They straighten your teeth and adjust your bite. I'm sure it's a better alternative to surgery. Call an orthodontist to discuss options.
Reply:There are the invisilign braces out there. They are clear plastic so nobody knows that you are wearing them. Consider that.
Reply:The only surgery that I know of is to have porcelain veneers put on. And that is painful. It makes your teeth really sensitive for a while. Have you thought about Invisalign? It's like braces, but you don't have to have them glued to your teeth. They're trays that fit over your teeth that you can take out and put in. I would rather do this than have surgery... It looks like a nice option.

Reply:Hi how are you?

For optimal results I'm afraid longish term low grade pressure Is needed..ie braces.

This is not as uncomfortable as u think and not at all unattractive.

It'll be worth it to achieve the look you desire.

Surgery isn't used for malocclusion (ie prominent teeth and misalignment of bite) really.

Your first step is to see an orthodontist and have impressions taken of your teeth.

Reply:Hi, this is a question which i am asked very frequently by people of your age, who missed getting braces done for any reason at a young age.

yes, it is possible in certain cases, provided your teeth are well aligned and not twisted of proclined or inclined. in such case the only movement required is a major movement of the bone and minor movements of teeth may not be required.

However most cases of surgery:(this surgery is known as orthognathic surgery, and i am a specialist in that) also require pre-surgical and post-surgical adjustments by braces.

YOur dentist or orthodontist will decide whether you need braces or surgery or both or none.
